MealLogger App Reviews

More than just an app

MealLogger goes beyond being a food diary app with this new version. Now you can connect with friends or other people who have the same nutrition concerns or goals. Its like a mindfulness tool and a virtual support group in one! Plus its simply fun to use.

LOVE it!

I was invited to join a MealLogger group with a few friends who are very motivated to get into shape. Before using the application, I thought my diet was relatively balanced and didnt really notice any monotony or holes. How wrong I was! Straightaway, I was inspired by the food choices that others in the group made, and also saw where certain types of foods were missing from meals, how oddly spaced my own eating times were and where just tiny tweaks could make a huge impact.

Great App!

What a useful and easy to use app. I have been a calorie counter for years and was used to entering all my food and amounts. This is so much easier and the support you get from others is so helpful. Not to mention that you also see their pictures, which is so helpful when looking for inspiration on something yummy and healthy when you are tired of the same old food! There is also the mindful aspect. You are posting your pictures. You want to post good food, healthy food and proper portions. Really makes you think twice on what you should eat! Thanks!

A must-have for registered dietitians

I use MealLogger to connect with many of my clients. Its been immensely valuable by increasing the opportunities for us to connect and exchange info and feedback. I absolutely recommend this app.

Outstanding App

Amazing app. Great functionality and ease of use means I actually use it daily to track my meals. Best in class for sure.

Excellent tool for healthy eating

This is a great app to keep track of your daily meals and exercise. I use it to track everything I eat. Good and bad. Looking back at my photo journal gives me incentive to make more smarter choices. Youll also find that sharing your food pics also encourages you to eat smarter and healthier. I highly encourage users to download this app!!

Simply amazing

This app is amazing ! You can log meals ( with or without a picture though I recommend taking a picture of your food before you eat it) , track your weight progress , and track your workouts. I love it I can see what I ate a week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks ago and see what I ate that was wrong that made me gain weight . Everyone should track what they eat whether your trying to lose weight or not and this is the BEST app for that purpose .

Almost Perfect

I am not looking to lose weight, but I do want to be more conscious of what I am eating so I decided to download almost every photo food journal in the App Store. I tested them all out, and MealLogger was the closest to what I was looking for. I like that MealLogger allows me to set up an account, so that if I switch over to another device, my journal isnt lost. I like that I can upload an existing picture and that the pic doesnt save to my camera roll if I take it in the app. I like that I can manually log which meal of the day I am snapping (its missing a dessert category though) and add a description. I like that the time the meal was eaten can be entered automatically or manually. And I like that I can view my journal as a long list of meals or have it sorted into the meals Ive eaten that week. All of these things make it easier for me to see patterns in my eating habits. However, I dont like that only a thin strip of my meals pic is shown when viewing my journal as a long list, because Im not looking at the whole meal anymore. The full image or a small thumbnail would be better. I dont like that my user image has to be shown beside each meal, if it is already shown at the top of my journal. It makes my journal too crowded. (In groups, it makes sense to display each meal with the users image because different users are posting in the group.) And it would also be great if there was a section where users could rate the healthiness of each others meals to get a better idea of the nutritional value of our meals. Overall, MealLogger is great for a diet journal and easier than writing down what you ate. The app itself is functional and more appealing than other photo food journal apps, but there are still some minor improvements that could be made to the design/layout to make this app the absolute best.

Disappointed

Cant register or sign in. Keeps timing out. Thought it was my internet? But everything else is connecting and working. Very disappointed!

Works & looks great

I downloaded 5-6 similar apps that allowed you to keep a photo journal and this one is by far the best, and the only one I have kept!

Its good, but...

On my app, the Like

Awesome!!

Perfectly simple and basic, which means I use it! Would love it if fat percentage was added but it is wonderful!

Reliability Issues

Sometimes this app double posts and when you delete the extra data you lose all of it. I need complete data accuracy to share with my medical professional. I dont see an easy data export feature, and when I tried to use the data sharing feature there is no way to pick my medical professional.

Great app

I used to have an app called the Eatery, this one is wayy better. This app is really great because I hate counting calories and snapping pictures of the food you ate is so much less time consuming. I want to eat healthy, not count my calories but there is a calorie counter that you can turn on if you want. You can link to your friends and see what theyre eating or just follow a random group and see what everyone else is eating. I love it and am so glad I came across this app.

Great App

I really love this app! Just a couple of suggestions: There should be a way to scroll through your pics when you are viewing your meals by day or week. Also, it would be great to be able to zoom into peoples pix. Otherwise, Im really happy with it, and Ive found it really helps me stay on track. Thanks!

Needs improvement

I love the concept if this app but it needs improvement... There are to many bugs that need to be fixed and it is also kind of slow. I liked the app the eatery more than this one and I hope you guys can improve MealLogger

It is a good start for a meal tracker app

Ive been looking at meal tracking apps for a couple days and even though I read the one review that was here, I decided to try this one. Ive been using it for 2 days and unless I can find one that is actually better, I may stick with it. The two problems I have found so far are the inability to fix an entry and not having photos save to the photo roll. It really does not matter if I label dinner as a snack, but I do like to be accurate when I record things. Ill be showing this to my trainer and I dont like that Im going to have to point out that my dinner was labelled as a snack instead of dinner. I would like to be able to reuse photos instead of having to photograph the same bottle of protein powder twice a day. If it records photos so that I can reuse them, I have not figured it out yet. Things I like: The flexibility of what I can list or enter. I can change the time entry if I am not able to enter stuff in real time. I can retake the photos. I can record protein and carb grams at the time I list the entry. My first complaint is because I cant enter it later. I would like to add a line for fat grams. I cant tell if that flexibility is built in the app yet. There is flexibility in the description area. I can write whatever I need to say. I can make one random note entry each day. Like today I had dental work so I could not actually eat for a few hours- I could mention that in a note. I am probably going to stick with this app because in theory I can share my data with my trainer. I have not tried to set that up yet, so no feedback on that feature yet. This is a great start to a meal tracker app!

Pretty good

It definitely serves its purpose. However, Id like for it to send me notifications so that I could remember to log down my food (like I have for a water app).

Best app

Love this app. I can record and take snap shot I my food. It would be great if this app can also link to mapmyrun app to capture my exercises too.

Excellent App!

Just what I was looking for - easy to use, great layout, and online editing with fast syncing. Awesome.
