MealLogger, the fast photo food journal, is the easy way to keep track of your healthy eating and wellness goals. Now faster and with more ways to help you stay on track.

On a diet? Suffering food allergies? Managing your weight? With MealLogger you can simply photograph your food intake, add a bit of text and nutrient information if you choose, and youre done. And, if you work with a health professional, MealLogger allows you to connect directly to your dietitian, nutritionist, fitness trainer, etc for feedback, advice, and support on your mobile device.

You can get great social and one-on-one support from MealLogger, but now you can also join custom Nutrition Programs. Track your daily servings of food categories: Meats, Grains, Fish, Legumes, Vegetables, Supplements, Fruits, and more. Search for nutrition programs - like the DASH diet, or AHA guidelines. Or if youre joining MealLogger via our fitness club or health partners, youll find programs published specifically by your club or company sponsor.

Tracking servings has never been easier. Just snap a picture and tap the serving amount. No looking up food; no entering grams and calories. No more looking up one food type from hundreds of examples. And MealLogger lets you know how youre doing, meal by meal, how many more servings you need to eat that day.

Connect to your friends with MealLogger groups! Create your own community based on your lifestyle, connecting with friends, family members, colleagues, or anyone sharing a common interest. If youre not yet ready to share with a group, follow a public group to learn more how others motivate each other to eat healthy or to research a specific diet youve always been curious about.

Designed with privacy in mind, MealLogger groups can also be completely private -- no need to worry about posting updates to social networks or public forums where everyone can see. With private MealLogger groups, you can get same social support you love in a place built specifically for personal healthy eating conversation with those you trust.

Pros and cons of MealLogger app for iPhone and iPad

MealLogger app good for

I love this app! Started using it 1.5 months ago and I dragged a couple of friends for accountability :-) I lost 12 pounds. Sure, I worked hard BUT if someone is going to see everything I eat... Well they did it for me! I wanted to eat better ;-) plus, I hate counting calories! I eat everything, watch my portions, take pictures, and I am held accountable. Thank you MealLogger, didnt know Ive been waiting for something like this - but looks like I did! Brilliant idea!
This is a great app if you take the time to use it & if you pay for the subscription to work with a nutritionist. We all need help in what to eat when. I have been using this app everyday for ~2 months & has helped to make s big difference in my lifestyle choices when it comes to nutrition. It would be perfect if you could see your nutritionist comments on your phone without having to go onto the computer but maybe that is soon to come. Great app!!!
After using a number of food-monitoring apps, I was thrilled to finally find one that was so easy I actually stuck with it. Taking pics of my meals is so simple and quick, there is no excuse not to do it. I totally recommend it for anyone trying to diet sensibly.
Ive been looking for a good food journal app for a while and this is exactly what Ive been looking for! Thx!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Super easy to use and it save me a trip to my drs office! WIN.
Its easy to use and it does exactly what I want - I just want to know what I ate and at what time. Perfect. I love that I can just take a pic. So easy.

Some bad moments

This app has some unique features and a lot of potential -- but there is NO attention to privacy control. At all. The food tracking system is great. It uses photos and "servings": you mark how many servings of grains, vegetables, etc. are in your meal. You can create as many entries as you want for any meal type, so if you eat 3 or 4 snacks a day? No problem, theyll each be a separate photo post. And theres no emphasis on calories, which is fantastic (though the info is there if you do want it). But theres not a word of transparency about data sharing! Each food entry looks exactly like a social media post, with likes and comments ... and absolutely no indication of where its going or who can see it. I would have been satisfied with a blanket "Opt out of all sharing" toggle, under Settings. At least I could still use the food logging and nutrition parts of the app. But there isnt even that. If you join a Group, other group members can definitely see your meal posts. But if you change your mind, there is NO apparent way to leave a group. Not on the group page, or under account settings ... within the app OR on the website. And you cant just hide your posts, either. This could be a really simple, helpful, usable food tracker -- as soon as the devs address its huge neglect of privacy. Other than that, there are a few general changes that would be nice: More options on custom nutrition plans. Let us have maximum servings of a thing, not just minimum servings. And "X servings of (multiple food groups)," so I can have, for instance, fish OR meat OR dairy and still meet my targets. Water measurements: ideally custom glass sizes, or at least being able to add "X number of oz/ml" throughout the day.
This app is useless. All I want to do us type in meals day to day.
Why cant I see my entries by day or week anymore? The single chronological feed is awful and not at all useful. Im going to be switching to another app.
I lost all my past entries after the upgrade. A warning would have been nice. What was a simple app to do a food diary is now becoming like all the other bloated apps in the App Store. Forget the social and tracking other metrics. Stick to the core of being a food diary, not a nutrition app. Better layouts and views are needed for the journal. Thumbnails dont render. [update] crashes when I take photos now
Cant register or sign in. Keeps timing out. Thought it was my internet? But everything else is connecting and working. Very disappointed!
Sometimes this app double posts and when you delete the extra data you lose all of it. I need complete data accuracy to share with my medical professional. I dont see an easy data export feature, and when I tried to use the data sharing feature there is no way to pick my medical professional.
